How This Works :)

I have lived here all my life :) I love this place but there's still an overwhelming hunger in me to experience everything there is :) So I'll probably marry a foreigner (who knows) ;D But at the moment, I'm still struggling with stuDYING to be able to accomodate such pipe dreams :)

My ambition is to be less ignorant or maybe naive and be more wordly, cultured...eclectic like idk maybe through reading and yes TRAVELING around the world but I can't do that...yet so I'll limit my traveling in this third largest city in land area in Philippines :)

*Yeh, I'll make a fictional personality haha lezz call her Tourist Kathè*

Abong Abong xD

Yay! Uhm the Holy Week is near so this place will be visited by lots of people who are doing penitence
by walking and praying at each stations to reach the 'Cruz Mayor' or a big cross in the mountain. It is related to the sacrifice of Jesus while carrying the cross.

We went here to celebrate a surprise for the friend of my classmate and I tagged along.

As usual, we rode a jeepney to the place called, "Abong-abong"...

These are the views I managed to picture...

Walking uphill towards the huge cross is tiring yes but it's done every year by catholics. Btw, that ice chest and the stand is a place for people selling fish. It is just at the side of the road so that people passing by like motorists can buy from them.

This is a school. School walls are usually decorated by murals.

A roadside river that can be dangerous in heavy rains.

Nature at its finest. The bamboo shoots can be consumed as food.

Houses in this rural part of the city. It is common to see a clothesline.

A bridge and the Coca Cola is a sponsor I guess. It is for the upcoming holy week.

Hmm this is at the Climaco Freedom Park. I don't know the back story but they refer to this place as the "helmet"...It is a simple park where people can sit and stuffs. I noticed several bikers and joggers.

Stray dogs are found everywhere.

Whoaa look at this expanse of green! It is farther away from the helmet place. I forgot to ask abt the name but usually this place is crowded the day before the Cross thing. You can see families camping here and lovers doing stuffs ;)

If you were able to reserve a cottage, this is where you'll sleep...

My silly friend fell down xD

That white spot in the upper left corner of the zoomed in photo is the huge cross.

Fire tree. It almost feels like Japan :P

Wow! I'm sure her family will be doing that oenitence stuffs so I'm excited. I'll be there! :)
